  1. To order or summon (a person) to one's presence.
  2. To send away for, to request a delivery of.
    • 1917 February 12, “If You Knew What Foods?” (advertisement), in The Independent, volume 59, number 3558, New York: Independent Corporation, page 280:
      More than 400 pages, with numerous illustrations and all substantially bound for home and kitchen use. Price only $2. Send for the book today. You take no risk. For—if you are not entirely pleased and satisfied, you may return the book within five days and we will promptly refund your money.
  3. (UK, transitive) To call out or diss, often in the form of a diss track; to roast.
    We all know that Family Guy sends for everyone.
