strokesman (plural strokesmen)
- The member of a rowing team who rows the aftermost oar, and whose stroke is to be followed by the rest.
- 1757, Jean Marteilhe, Autobiography of a French Protestant:
- He arrived at last before our bench, and stopping with a ferocious air he ordered the strokesmen to cease rowing
