  1. (inorganic chemistry) the acid formally derived from sulphuric acid by replacing a hydroxyl (-OH) group by an amino (-NH2) group - SO2(OH)(NH2)
  2. (organic chemistry) any organic compound derived from sulphamic acid by replacing one or two hydrogen atoms of the amine group by an organic radical — for example cyclamic acid where a hydrogen atom is replaced by a cyclohexyl radical
