Etymology[edit]
From the stem μαθ- of μαθαίνω (mathaíno, “learn”) + suffix -εύομαι (compare λαθεύω (lathévo, “make mistake”).[1][2]

- Alternative for the passive voice μαθαίνομαι (mathaínomai) of μαθαίνω (mathaíno, “I learn, in sense: become known”).
- According to Triantafyllidis its simple past tense μαθεύτηκα is included in the conjugation of μαθαίνομαι. [3]
