Bulgarian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Russian урожа́й (urožáj), from Proto-Slavic *uroďajь. Morphologically equivalent to Bulgarian уро́дя (uródja, to give birth) (dialectal) + -яй (-jaj). Identical with outdated native Bulgarian урожда́й (uroždáj, brood).
