From Aramaic בְּרַךְ (bəraḵ), from Proto-Semitic; cognate with Arabic بَرَكَ (baraka), بَارَكَ (bāraka), Hebrew בָּרַךְ (barákh), בֵּרַךְ (berákh) and Amharic ባረከ (baräkä).
