Use of this word is limited to the Guangfu dialects of Cantonese, notably the Guangzhou, Foshan and Hong Kong dialects. It is not used in most other Cantonese dialects, including the nearby Siyi dialect. For example, the Taishanese word for "they" is pronounced /kʰiak̚²¹/.
