Category:Catalan epicene adjectives

This category contains Catalan adjectives that have identical masculine and feminine forms, which were inherited from the Latin first or third declension. This includes most adjectives ending in:

  • -a (by necessity), in particular -ista
  • -ant, -ent, -int (present participles)
  • stressed -al, -el, unstressed -il
  • stressed -ar, -or
  • -e, in particular -able, -ible (but some adjectives in -e have feminines in -a instead and do not belong here)
  • (these have distinct plural forms, because the -s cannot be directly attached: masculine plural -os, feminine plural -es)
