  1. (intransitive) To become accustomed to something; to acclimate; to adjust.
    I'm getting used to this climate.
    Over time, you will get used to being on the front line.
  2. (transitive) to make accustomed, to accustom, to habituate (someone to something).
    I'm gradually getting them used to the idea.
  3. (colloquial, US) Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see get,‎ used.
    This sponge gets used to clean cars.
