Etymology

From Ancient Greek ἀνώτερος (anṓteros). A comparative form derived from an adverb: άνω (ánō, upper, over) + -τερος (-teros, comparative suffix).

ανώτερος (anóterosm (feminine ανώτερη or ανωτέρα, neuter ανώτερο)
