When describing the specific regionalisms of Russian in different places (such as differences between a speaker in Moscow from someone in Donetsk or Omsk), "говор" is used. "наре́чие (naréčije)" is for greater categories, like Northern Russian dialects as opposed to Southern Russian dialects in both Russia and Ukraine.
