      Borrowed from Classical Persian اِطَاعَت (itā'at), borrowed from Arabic إِطَاعَة (ʔiṭāʕa), from أَطَاعَ (ʔaṭāʕa).[1][2] First attested in c. 1500 as Middle Hindi اِطاعَت (at̤a't /⁠itā'at⁠/).[3]
