Etymology

Borrowed from Arabic آمِن (ʔāmin), from an Arabic dialect with imāla.[1] Classical Arabic /ʔaːmin/ becomes /ʔeːmin/ with imāla.

Compare Classical Persian لیکِنْ (lēkin) and بَلی (balē), from Arabic لٰكِنْ (lākin) and بَلَى (balā).
