Etymology

Inherited from Prakrit *𑀩𑀳𑀺𑀡𑀯𑀇 (*bahiṇavaï), from Sanskrit भगिनीपति (bhaginīpati), from भगिनी (bhaginī, sister) +‎ पति (páti, husband).[1][2]
