Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘕𑘻𑘚𑘜𑘹 (joḍaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀚𑁄𑀟𑁂𑀇 (joḍei); see there for more. Cognate with Gujarati જોડવું (joḍvũ), Hindi जोड़ना (joṛnā). Related to जुळणे (j̈uḷṇe), जोडा (j̈oḍā), जोडी (j̈oḍī).
