  1. (chiefly in compounds) science; field or branch of knowledge; -ology.

Usage notes

[edit]

When a field is suffixed with บัณฑิต (ban-dìt, bachelor), มหาบัณฑิต (má-hǎa-ban-dìt, master), and ดุษฎีบัณฑิต (dùt-sà-dii-ban-dìt, doctor), the prefix form ศาสตร (sàat-dtrà-), without the killer mark, is used instead.
