Etymology[edit]
From Chinese 愛新覺羅/爱新觉罗 (Àixīnjuéluó). Ultimately from Manchu ᠠᡳᠰᡳᠨ
ᡤᡳᠣᡵᠣ (aisin gioro), the “gold” family (Aisin) of the Yilan (Gioro) clan of the Jianzhou Jurchens.
