      Jinja no matsuri de nigiyaka na yoru, kobune wa, sono soko ni wakai bushi o fusete kishi o hanareta. Tochū, yakunin ga kibishiku “dare da!” to suika (suika).
      On the night of a busy shrine festival, a young samurai came away from a small boat on a concealed part of the shore. Along the way, an official raised a harsh challenge (suika): “Who goes there!”
