Borrowing from French -ade, as in promenade; adopted by other languages, as seen in English blockade.



  1. (verbal suffix) -adi notable duration of an action
    danci(to dance) + ‎-ad- → ‎dancadi(to keep on dancing; to dance on)
  2. (nominal suffix with verbal root) -ado noun of an action
    danci(to dance) + ‎-ado → ‎dancado(dancing)
  3. (nominal suffix with nominal root) -ado simple action of the verb without connotation of duration
    krono(a crown) + ‎-ad- → ‎kronado(a coronation)
