Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *tótḱ-us, from *tetḱ- (“to weave, braid, add, establish, construct”). Cognate with Latin texō (“weave, braid, build, compose”), Ancient Greek τίκτω (tíktō), τέχνη (tékhnē), τέκτων (téktōn).
