kauko-
See also: Kauko
Finnish
Etymology
From the stem *kauka, from Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., likely borrowed from Proto-Germanic *hauhaz, from Proto-Indo-European *kewk-. Alternative theory suggests Proto-Finno-Ugric *kawka, ultimately from the same Indo-European root, but comparisons to possible cognates in other Uralic languages have been disputed. Cognate to Estonian kauge and Votic kaukaa.
