Pudding m (genitive Puddings, plural Puddinge or Puddings)

  1. (obsolete) cake with meat or fish laid into it, pide
  2. (obsolete) cake-dessert laid with fruits
  3. thick custard; milk pudding, crème or mousse

Usage notes

  • There is no single word for “custard” in German. It is referred to as Pudding when thick and as Soße (often Vanillesoße) when thin and fluid.
