@Sarri.greek Hello. I see you have added πουλί and πουλάρι as descendants. This is still a very contentious area at the moment, and we haven't found a good solution yet, but I'll say this.

Technically, πουλί (poulí) doesn't come from πῶλος (pôlos), but from the diminutive πωλίον (pony; young elephant) (see the place of the τόνος: it's on the iota). And this is true for many Modern Greek words:

So in reality, κεφάλι, πόδι, etc. should be added under "===Descendants===" at κεφάλιον, πόδιον, etc., NOT in κεφαλή, πούς, etc., because we prefer only having the direct descendants, the Modern Greek words that phonetically match perfectly the Ancient Greek.

The thing that should be added in ὄφις is ὀφίδιον under "===Derived terms===", like this.

But this isn't perfect, because the reader likes to see the Modern Greek descendant (which isn't even a "diminutive" anymore, it's the normal word in Modern Greek!) in the main entry. So another solution is to add more information in the descendants section, like this. --Barytonesis (talk) 12:18, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you @Barytonesis: If I had teachers like you, probably i'd choose philology as my study course. And thank you for your sensitive antennae to my sensitivity on greek ancient-to-modern continuity. Your solution -linguistically precise and inventive, your effort moved me. Are you sure you are not greek? sarri.greek (talk) 12:34, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Sarri.greek: I'm sure, I just love the Greek language! --Barytonesis (talk) 14:57, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Well, @Barytonesis:, I know you master many languages, but according to Isocrates you are greeker than me. sarri.greek (talk) 15:35, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
