Inflected form for a spelling never to be used again, the spelling reform of 1918 replaced "ѳ" with "ф", see modern эфир (lemma). We have a couple entries with archaic letters, though. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 07:36, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

keep how is this different from English archaic words? -- Liliana 04:09, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Keep per Liliana. RFV if necessary. — Ungoliant (Falai) 04:14, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
All right, I'll withdraw. I was just reluctant to maintain Russian words in spellings, which are not used and hard to find citations for. There's little work done on Russian standard inflected forms, let alone archaic. The vulgar form пізда (archaic form) (there was a Russian section) was deleted by User:Wikitiki89 with no objections in the past (see diff).
I have created эѳир. If there is no objection I'll remove the citation request, it should be done on the lemma form, even if citations are in inflected forms. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 04:43, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the confusion but after double-checking the pre-1918 spelling rules пізда wasn't a correct spelling. Letter "і" was only used before vowels (including iotated) and in the word "міръ" (mir) ("world") to differentiate from "миръ" (mir) ("peace"). In the modern Russian spelling "мир (mir)" means both "world" and "peace". It was a bit hard to check, since this is a modern Belarusian spelling, the Ukrainian misspelling. Deleting again, User:Wikitiki89 was right in deleting the Russian section.--Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 08:33, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to note that I moved эѳир to эѳиръ. --WikiTiki89 19:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I must have been drunk or something, when I wrote "эѳир" without "ъ" but I don't think much about pre-1918 spelling. I'll be more careful next time. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 22:38, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
