The Chinese proper noun. I don’t know a Japanese state named 女王. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 03:51, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's mentioned in 《三國志·魏志·東夷傳》:女王國東渡海千餘里,復有國,皆倭種。又有侏儒國在其南,人長三四尺,去女王四千餘里。 I'm not sure if it's mentioned elsewhere. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 04:15, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
女王國 is a queendom, in which 女王 just means “queen”. It refers the queendom of Yamatai. See 邪馬台国 and 邪马台国. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 07:30, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Hanyu Dacidian seems to be of the opinion that it is an actual name. —suzukaze (tc) 06:35, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That’s weird. Since the original text refers to the same state by both 女王國 and 邪馬台国, the former must be a common noun meaning “queendom”. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 03:30, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Kept: included in Hanyu Da Cidian (no evidence so far its sense is incorrect). Wyang (talk) 09:10, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Huh, there is no evidence the dictionary is correct. Read the original sentence:

Clearly “女王” is not a country name, and “女王國” means “queendom” here, referring to Yamatai. The Chinese speakers will agree that “女王” is not a country name. The following sentence shows another nation named so in Yunnan, which may be really a country name:

  • 女王國,去蠻界鎮南節度三十餘日程。其國去驩州一十日程,往往與驩州百姓交易。蠻賊曾將二萬人伐其國,被女王藥箭射之,十不存一,蠻賊乃回。 [2]

It’s in Talk:女王. I’m not convinced but I gave up. — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 22:19, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
