Also sauce?[edit]

Can 豆豉 also refer to a sauce or paste made from salted black beans (as Lin Yutang's dictionary says), or does that require "jiang" (sauce) after 豆豉? 01:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

I believe you can. When 豆豉 is talked about in casual conversations is usually implied. —This unsigned comment was added by Jamesjiao (talkcontribs).

Additional reading?[edit]

Can this also be pronounced "dòushì"? 07:48, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Not in standard Mandarin; perhaps it is a regional variant. ---> Tooironic 03:08, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
2 anon, please try a better next time. You need to look for similar entries or the template, which will give a head start. We have many entries starting with 豆. --Anatoli 04:00, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Guoyu Cidian actually says that shì is a variant in 豆豉. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 19:48, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
