Italian SOP. This was previously nominated and passed. But given that a couple people would have voted to delete had the vote not been closed (and given that Dentonius won't be voting this time), I've renominated it. Imetsia (talk) 20:17, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
- Delete, not a lexical unit: for example, you can insert solo between amico and per convenienza ("Sergio, accusato di essere amico solo per convenienza"). It can also be more elaborate: "Fidel Castro, amico dell’URSS, ma solo per convenienza strategica".
- Besides, you can be other things per convenienza: "Vivo con un giovane uomo che mi rispetta e mi considera sua moglie solo per convenienza egli non mi ama ed io non amo lui".
- Also, per is not the only preposition used: amico di convenienza and amico a convenienza are also attested.
- In light of this, amico per convenienza clearly isn't lexicalized, no more than friend out of convenience is in English. If necessary, the words can be linked separately in the translation table of fair-weather friend. PUC - 212.224.234.255 23:21, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
