Talk:could be someone's parent
Figurative?
[edit]Should this be tagged with {{figurative}}
? I've only heard of this literally myself, but have heard old enough to be one's parent a lot. -- 124.171.169.189 12:50, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Not really figurative, IMO, just a sort of ellipsis for "could be (in terms of age)". Equinox ◑ 14:37, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

The name of this page is horrible! the one and the someone together, and the gender-neutral parent make this something so unlikely to be looked up in this form. Also, old enough to be one's parent sounds more lemma-y and catchy to me --XY3999 (talk) 13:59, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
- Both seem quite SoP to me, just common collocations. DCDuring (talk) 14:03, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Seems to be a collocation more than a lemma --XY3999 (talk) 15:03, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
