• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
• Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
• If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
• If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
• Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) which automatically produces your username and timestamp.

Quick note

Hi, thank you for your recent edits. I would kindly suggest that whenever you create an entry, you preview it before publishing your edit, and after publishing your edit, take a look at the entry you have just created. The entry 取保候審‎ right now has no simplified form in the {{zh-forms}} box, no pronunciation module, and two exact same noun senses. I understand that you are new to the site, but it is generally a good idea to create well-formatted entries that don't require special attention from other editors afterwards. You can always imitate the formatting in other Chinese entries. RcAlex36 (talk) 13:52, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

You can bring up the character map in windows, and that will have all the characters you need for pinyin. The dog2 (talk) 20:39, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

自作自演

You said this is a noun but the definitions are verbs, which is it? N.B. If this is a -suru verb look at entries from Category:Japanese suru verbs to see how we format entries for them. 37.110.218.43 11:07, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

@37.110.218.43: To be honest, I only have basic understanding on Japanese kanji (and is generally involved in creating Japanese kanji entries). I copied most information from Chinese Wiktionary, in which they classifies it as a noun. Please feel free to change if it's really a verb or other thing, thank you.廣九直通車 (talk) 11:10, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

I don't really know Japanese at all, but I have some knowledge derived partially from editing Wiktionary. Pinging @Atitarev as they should probably be knowledgeable enough to help here. 37.110.218.43 11:15, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

@Tooironic: Yes, I made up the quote by myself based on historical facts, in which I don't think there are grammatical errors in the quote. Please also inform what's wrong with the pinyin within the entry/quote, thanks.廣九直通車 (talk) 04:40, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
