From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle French, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old French aboutir (to endure stubbornly, persist), derived from bouter (to persist), ultimately of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "gem" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. origin, equivalent to a- +‎ bouter. See also bout.
