Preposition

[edit]

ann am (+ dative, no mutation, before the definite article anns, combined with the singular definite article sa, san, combined with the plural definite article sna)

  1. form of ann an (“in”) used before words beginning with b, f, m or p
ann am baile ― in a town
ann am bàtaichean ― in boats

Usage notes

[edit]
  • The am does not represent the definite article in this expression and does not change before plural nouns, for "in the" see anns, sa, san, sna.
