Romanian

Etymology

Possibly from bot or Latin botum + suffix -ză, possibly influenced by bucă, or through a confusion of Latin basium and bucca [1] (compare bosumflat). Other theories suggest a substratum origin; it is certainly related to Albanian buzë, and is possibly derived or borrowed from it. Compare also Aromanian budzã, Bulgarian буза (buza) and Macedonian буза (buza).
