  1. (Canada, US, Philippines) A mark () made to indicate agreement, correctness or acknowledgement.
    Synonyms: (UK, AU, NZ) tick, (India) tickmark
    Put a check mark in the box corresponding to the correct answer.
  2. (athletics) In long jump, javelin and similar events, little mark alongside the runway which helps the athlete to set their steps just right for their performance.
