Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Spanish cucaracha (woodlouse), from cuca (butterfly caterpillars), of onomatopoeic origin; see also Greek κόκκυξ (kókkux) and Late Latin cucus. Influenced, via folk etymology, by cock and roach.
