From Ottoman Turkish ایلمك (eylemek), from older *eðle-,[1] ultimately from Proto-Turkic *ed (thing, goods).[2]

eylemek (third-person singular simple present eyler)

  1. (transitive) to make, do
    Synonyms: etmek, yapmak
  2. (with ablative case) to deprive, debar

Not commonly used as “etmek” and “yapmak” to mean “to do, make” on its own, but mainly to form active verbs from Arabic and Persian verbal nouns.
