  1. (historical) A partition or distribution, especially of slaves.
    • 1831, Washington Irving, Voyages and Discoveries of the Companions of Columbus, John Murray, pages 283–284:
      He could not withstand these sneers, but resigned his appointment, and remained in the island as a private individual; establishing himself in a village where he had a large repartimiento or allotment of Indians assigned to him by a grant from the king.
  2. (historical) An assessment of taxes.
