From Proto-Albanian *rinja, from *h₃rinéHti (“move”), present of *h₃er- (“to move, stir, rise, spring”). Related to re (“cloud(s)”), Illyrian *rhinos (“fog, mist”), Proto-Slavic *rinǫti (“push shove”), Aeolic Greek ὀρῑ́νω (orī́nō, “to move”).[1]
