Etymology

Borrowed from Austrian German Würstel, diminutive of German Wurst (sausage). Suffixed with -i to resolve the word-final consonant cluster, compare cetli from Bavarian zettl or German Zettel (/⁠ˈt͡sɛtl̩⁠/) etc.
