Etymology

From Proto-Slavic *pьkъ. Originally a discourse marker, related to Bulgarian по (po, “at, upon”), па (pa, “so, afterwards”).

   He/She presents themselves as an expert, however they don't understand anything.

   He/She promised to attend, yet at the end they didn't come.

   Leave him to rest, while we complete the job/task.

4. coordinating conjunction expressing addition and reinforcement: also, just as well, moreover, then

   Тя е красива, пък и умна.

   Tja e krasiva, pǎk i umna.

   She is pretty and also (additionally/on top of that) smart.
