I'm probably alone in that; I wouldn't be surprised. On the other hand, when I do hear giddy, it is pretty much always sense 3 that is being used. Furthermore, the quote provided on this page for "giddiness" seems to also be sense 3, referencing the 'giddiness of empty-headed girls'. undo
