[edit]Inherited from Proto-Slavic *bъtъva. Cognate with Ukrainian бо́тва (bótva, “beet”), Belarusian бо́тва (bótva, “beet”), Polish boćwina. Further cognates possibly include Greek φυτόν (fytón).
