[edit]From Middle Persian [Term?] (/hanǰām/, “end, completion, outcome”), from Old Persian [script needed] (*hanǰāma-, “end, conclusion”), from Proto-Iranian *ham- + *gam (“to come”), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *gʷem- (“to go, stand”). Compare Sanskrit संगम (saṃgama).
