Etymology[edit]

From Arabic صَدَى (ṣadā, echo), from Persian سدا (sadâ, echo). According to Anjoman Ārāye Nāsery, the word سدا that according to some people is the origin of the Arabic word, is not seen in any book and is possibly mentioned by mistake. (By comparison to Persian صد, سد that mean "Hundred")
