[edit]Inherited from Aramaic; cognates Arabic كُحْل (kuḥl) and Hebrew כָּחָל (kāḥāl). Akkadian 𒎎𒋆𒁉𒍣𒁕 (guḫlum, “antimon, stibium”) is probably a Semitic loanword.
