Burmese

[edit]

[edit]

Inherited from Old Burmese ပ္လု (plu).[1]

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (pru "do"). Luce suggests Old Chinese (OC *skʰuːɡs, *sɡuːʔ, “to do, make, build”) as a cognate, though the phonetics do not support this.[2]
