Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Related to θαλυκρός (thalukrós, “warm, glowing”),[1] from Proto-Hellenic *tʰal-ukʷ-, likely of Pre-Greek origin. The connection with θάλλω (thállō, “make green”) is unlikely.[2][3][4]
