    Equivalent to faciō +‎ -s. Inherited from Proto-Italic *-faks, from earlier *-θaks, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰéh₁k-s, the root noun of *dʰeh₁-k-, an extension of *dʰeh₁- (to do; to place). Related to *fakjō.
