Etymology

From Proto-Uralic *iće. Cognates include Erzya эсь (), Mari, Komi-Zyrian ачым (aćym), Udmurt ачим (aćim), Khanty, Northern Sami ieš, Finnish itse, Estonian ise, Livonian īž.[1]
