Etymology

This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “If this is from 足, then the parallel in terms of initial to compare to is Viet. đục - M. Bi tuc - Chin. . In this case, it's less straightforward as there's no comparanda from Hmong-Mien and would also assume that this word was borrowed from a Sinitic form with 去 tone without final stop.”

Cognate with Muong Bi .
