halu
Finnish
Etymology
From Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., probably borrowed and derived from Proto-Germanic *halōną. The meaning "to fetch, get" that the Germanic word appears to have had could also explain halata (“to hug”) with the sense development "to go get > pull towards oneself > embrace", suggesting that it is of the same origin as halata (“to want”).
